I see the Vatican website only books 2 months ahead. Going in late Sept. and don't want to be shut out of the Firday nite tour. Do i need to go with another tour site like walks of italy ?

If you are tight on time and must have a specific night, I would go with a tour company like WOI.

Come to think of it, I would always go with WOI. Have had great experiences with them three times.

I agree that Walks of Italy tours are fantastic. I took a morning tour called "The Pristine Sistine" that got me directly in to the Sistine Chapel before the thundering herd. After the Sistine, we turned around and went through the Vatican museum and on to St. Peter's.

I seem to recall that they have a night tour. Highly recommend this company.

Yep, Walks of Italy all the way. I, too, have done the Pristine Sistine (twice, because my husband decided he wanted to go when we ended up in Rome for a few extra days last summer). Excellent tour!

This has nothing to do with the Vatican but was my reply-in-process to your question about a private driver in Rome JUST as you were deleting that entire thread.

norettegg, you might look into a golfcart/ Eco Green cart tours? Those have been suggested in past posts for visitors with mobility and/or time limitations, and as an alternative to scooters:

A couple of those threads:

Scooteroma's tour is in a fun little Ape Calessino vehicle. :O)
