Saw several listed and it is very appealing because of knee issues I have.On the costly side and usually do hop on hop off buses to get a starting overview in a new city but, seems like hop on hop off bus won't show us as much because of city layout.Wondering if anyone could share their experience and what company they used.
Thanks in advance
We did a golf cart tour when we were in Rome in 2016 and enjoyed it. We were only in Rome for two days and knew that we wouldn't get to do much in depth. Our guide took us to most of the major sites in one day and gave us a good overview of the city. From what I understand, the hop-on-hop-off buses cannot get too close to attractions so a golf cart tour would probably be a better option to get a quick overview of the city- especially if you have mobility issues.
Oh yes we did this! http://www.mybesttour.com/tours.htm Our guide was great, he picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. We did an evening tour, saw a lot of places that we hadn't gotten to on our own, especially the area of the Janiculum hill including The Fontana dell'Acqua Paola. Also this, we talked with our driver about wanting photos and his timing of sunset and location gave us some absolutely spectacular photos of the Coliseum and the Forum at sunset. He was incredibly well-informed, enthusiastic about what he was sharing with us and very amusing. So, I say 3 thunmbs up!
We used the same company last October. We had a large group, (8) and some had mobility issues. With only 3 nites in Rome, this was definitely the way to go.
They are a great group to work with. When we booked we laid out the sights we wanted to see, and where we wanted to stop for photo ops.
These folks really enjoy their job, and are a blast to be around.
Can't recommend them enough.
