Hotels in Istanbul near IST Airport

I always stay at the Yotel inside the airport. It's mildly pricey, but oh so convenient.

Check out the Erzurumlu Otel in Kilyos. We spent 2 nights there last week and enjoyed both the hotel and the town. Not sure if they have a shuttle - I had a rental car. It's about a half hour drive from IST.

Just on October 13, we stayed at Heaven Premium Airport Hotel the night before our early morning flight to San Francisco, CA. There are several similar hotels nearby that all show up on Google Maps. We just picked one and were pretty happy. Brand new, it was $45 and run well by some young men who seem to know that they are catering to all of us using the airport. They can arrange for a shuttle for a set fee -- or arrange for your own taxi. It was a short 15 minute drive and didn't cost much (sorry I can't quite remember but it was maybe 10 euro - inexpensive and the taxi driver knew exactly where to go.)

Not the best town, but we only had that one night before flying home. That evening, we drove our rental car back to the airport to turn it in, then grabbed a taxi back to the hotel. Not too many restaurants nearby, but a bakery for that last dessert! The hotel was on a main drag so we were nervous it would be noisy, but it was fine.
