Istanbul Airport Yotel?

Has anyone stayed at the Istanbul Airport Yotel? How didi it work out for you? And where did you put your luggage? The website says hand luggage only. Thanks!

We stayed in the Airside Yotel in 2019. We had to pick up our checked bags from the prior fight (different tickets) and convince Lufthansa to check the bags for the next day's flight. We wanted Airside instead of the Outside Yotel, because of an early flight the next day we didn't want to additional have to go through security. If you have checked bags with you, you can't stay on the Airside.
The hotel room was small, but clean and quiet. The bed and the desk/table folded down, but you couldn't do both at the same time.

There are 2 different Yotel options at the Istanbul airport. One option is Airside and the other is Landside. The Airside option is after you check-in and pass through security therefore you will not have your luggage, just carry on items. The Landside is before you check-in and in this option you can keep your luggage. I am actually staying in the Yotel Landside in May. I am flying from Izmir to Istanbul late on a Saturday, staying one night in the Yotel Landside, and then checking in my luggage Sunday morning before my flight.

I've stayed airside a couple of times (2019 and 2021) and never noticed the luggage restriction. Always had my carryon bag. Rather like the place. Convenient, spotless, interesting design.

Hmmm, “yotel”, a new word for me. Is that a blend of a yurt and a hotel? Might be special!

I stayed at the airside Yotel once, in March 2020, when they shut down the border, just hours before we arrived during the great Covid shutdown. It was an absolute godsend. It was a nice, practical, clean place to stay. I don't recall any luggage restrictions, but we didn't have any big bags.

Larry, I think "Yotel" is a cross between Yolcu (passenger) and Hotel.

We would like to check in with Turkish Airlines the evening before our 6:40am flight to Chicago, and then check in to Yotel Airside with just a small hand bag. Does anyone know if this is possible - checking our bag in with Turkish Airlines the night before the flight? Thanks!
