Website time-out issues?

Hey,

Is anyone else getting a lot of "application error" messages and time-outs when browsing or posting in the forum today, or is it just me?

Yes, I have. I tried to post two to three different times, and I'm getting the application error message and then nothing (although in 3-4 cases, the reply finally came through). I'm not sure what the issue is. I'm going to send an email to Andrew just so he's aware of it.

FWIW, I tried it in both Chrome and Safari and had the same error using both browsers.

This is interesting. It doesn’t seem to be happening on my iPhone when I post something. The response went through with no delay and no application error message.

I will try to post and see what happens. Using Chrome on my laptop.

No problem posting, but when I tried to delete the post I got 'application error.'

Yup. Very slow moving from screen to screen and sometimes just won't load the next screen.

it has been very slow for at least 3 hours, often having to reload both reading and posting

I don't see it elsewhere but here

I think Andrew has turned it off and back on again.

Seems fine now.
edit: nope still wonky.

Snags and lags here too.
Maybe IT//Webmaster are doing some server housekeeping? 🧹

Yep, having issues on my MAC with Safari...has anyone sent an email to Andrew the webmaster? Don't want to inundate him on a Saturday but it may be something he needs to know about!

Yep, tried to post a new topic and the website just sat there looking at me like the neighbor’s deaf cat. I’m sure Andrew knows by now.

Yep! The technical situation (as is the case with many computer problems) is known as a "GOK". Translation: God Only Knows

Pam, I emailed him earlier this morning, although since he's on Pacific time, he probably didn't get it right away. At least I hope I didn't wake him up! 😰

It's an " atmospheric anomaly. "

It's raining here today, something that hasn't happened in a long time.

Yikes...back to having problems. It is taking 2 or 3 clicks to get a page to load. Just tried to send a PM and it wouldn't go so either the person has gotten NO messages or 47 of them. I'll wait until tomorrow to try and send anyone else a message!

Combined with the Olympics and oh, yeah, a football game.

Go Hawks.

Pam, A quick double click seems to work and seems to be the only thing that does work. Not sure how long that will last. Give it a try.

Still not working well as of this morning, and the double click doesn't do much. Sometimes it's fine and sometimes it's not.

But the good news is that there was no spam this weekend! I guess the bots got tired of waiting. 😂 😂 😂

Hi,

This is just a quick message to say that we are aware. The reports I've seen are consistent with server errors or an issue with db access, and we're looking into that.

It sounds like our team has been monitoring it over the weekend and that we indeed restarted servers several times. We've done it again this morning. There doesn't seem to be anything malicious, and things are good now, but we'll keep checking on it.

@Andrew, Webmaster and team...thanks for your attention to this!
