Ongoing server issues

Hello everyone. In the interest of transparency, we've been running into server issues in the past week or so. You may have noticed forum pages having a tough time loading, or perhaps you needed to try a few times for a post to get through. Our team has been monitoring this, and while we're able to address the issue when it arises, it seems to only be temporary for several hours or a few days. Something is recurring and we don't have a complete picture on what that is just yet. I can assure you that our team is working on this and we'll figure it out. You are welcome to contact us about it when server errors appear, though it likely isn't necessary. I'll likely just direct folks here as a response.

In the meantime, if you get a Server Error or an Application Error (check the browser tab at the top for that - it's basically a timeout error), please simply try refreshing the page until it loads. If a post doesn't submit, please hit your back button and try submitting it again.

We've had a few hiccups over the years and we'll get this squared away just as we have before. This might take a few more days, or it could take longer.

Thanks to you all for your patience.

Thank you for transparency.

Without knowing your likely aged IT and forum software architecture, from what I perceive it appears from time to time on GET and PUT methods. The PUT by client on re-send seems always working. When the symptom comes and goes I would exclude memory leak(s). Feels more like a cron job cueing issue or if you use it like a worker issue. Or one level "above" it can be an issue of load balancing and / or vertical and horizontal scaling (cloud in use or still boxes)?

On mid-term view a newer forum software could be an idea? Of course not the solution for the urgent issue.

Good luck in finding and solving. And thank you for maintaining.
