OOPS There Are Problems with Your reply You Can't Post to this Forum

that is the message I got when I tried to post a reply. Makes no sense to me. What does it mean and how can I get it to work ?

I was replying to a post in the RS Tours forums titled "Alps My Way Tour Group: September 16, 2026 — Sun, September 27, 2026" posted 22 June.

There are 0 replies so maybe no one is able to reply?

I just tried and got the same error message. So there is obviously some kind of glitch.

I have reported the probably to the tech team, so hopefully they will be aware of it soon and fix the problem.

Just an FYI, if that happens in the future, you can report it, using the "report" button on the thread. Or email the Webmaster at [email protected].

Thanks, Mardee! I knew I'd seen something somewhere to somehow do something (haha) to report an issue but I couldn't remember what. :P

you also get that message if your reply contains a banned word - even if it is in the middle of another word. Check what you have typed carefully and look for spelling mistakes that may have created something.....

me.crewe, it wasn't due to a banned word. I tried it with an innocuous sentence and it didn't work. It's been reported, though, so I'm sure the tech team will look into it.

Hey, tripletblessings, it looks like you and another tour member are posting about the same tour. What you might want to do is contact that person via private message, let them know what's going on, but point out that you've already started a thread, so maybe they could join in there. Just go here to send it: https://community.ricksteves.com/users/954703

Well I've just tried posting on the thread with no responses, and it worked for me, so some odd glitch.
I just put in test message, so deleted it once it worked.

I have received that response once or twice a year. Have no idea the problem. Come back 24 hrs later and it works fine.

Now we know who are the problem posters.

Thank you.

The RS Forum filter is working.

Stuart, either it resolved on its own or the tech team managed to fix it. I just tried it and I was able to post as well. So it looks like it’s working now.

Whatever the problem might have been with that thread, I have definitely received the error message for a banned word when the “word” was four letters within a non-American place name. The filter is sensitive (no complaints about that) and will catch things the poster types in good faith.
