Thought I'd give everyone a good chuckle. I don't have any sort of packing list, my packing is very rote and out of curiosity I made a list of what I carried to the UK for the two weeks as I was unpacking and putting stuff away.
2 pairs cargo pants
5 colored t-shirts
1 poly-t for lounging and nightwear
2 lightweight pullovers
2 medium weight pullovers
5 pairs underwear
5 pairs wool socks
Rain jacket
Toiletries, meds
Mobile, using Verizon Travel Pass & stays with me
Tablet, stays on airplane mode and room wi-fi
Hearing aid & charging base
Eyeglasses and case
Wall adaptor kit, chargers & Assorted cables
Bluetooth speaker
Assorted earbuds
Passport
Smartrip card for DC Metro
Oyster card
Carry-on sized hardshell brought empty & checked
Osprey Daylite plus as EDC
Clothes worn over
That's it.
Two of my hotels had laundry facilities, with one being in room.
The hardshell begins the trip & gets checked empty. I use it to bring back various items and souvenirs that I purchase along the way and except for the tablet traveling in my Osprey bag as my personal item, everything was packed in my convertible soft side carry-on bag, which weighed 16 pounds.
I'm not fashionable and at home I'm a shorts and t-shirt kind of guy, I work outside in all weather and at one time I cycled to work. I'm comfortable in a very wide range of temperatures and weather conditions, but when I travel I'll dress less like hiker trash and switch to trousers. I tend to dress in layers, so as autumn temperatures start to cool I'll wear pullovers. Early autumn tends to be just a single pullover, and that can get pulled off and stuck in my bag when building interiors are too warm or as the day warms up. The first half of the trip the lightweight pullovers were more than sufficient and by the last half I'd switched to the medium weight pullovers, but I never needed to double up layers.
