My "Packing List" for Last 2 Weeks

Thought I'd give everyone a good chuckle. I don't have any sort of packing list, my packing is very rote and out of curiosity I made a list of what I carried to the UK for the two weeks as I was unpacking and putting stuff away.

2 pairs cargo pants
5 colored t-shirts
1 poly-t for lounging and nightwear
2 lightweight pullovers
2 medium weight pullovers
5 pairs underwear
5 pairs wool socks
Rain jacket
Toiletries, meds

Mobile, using Verizon Travel Pass & stays with me
Tablet, stays on airplane mode and room wi-fi
Hearing aid & charging base
Eyeglasses and case
Wall adaptor kit, chargers & Assorted cables
Bluetooth speaker
Assorted earbuds
Passport
Smartrip card for DC Metro
Oyster card

Carry-on sized hardshell brought empty & checked
Osprey Daylite plus as EDC
Clothes worn over

That's it.

Two of my hotels had laundry facilities, with one being in room.

The hardshell begins the trip & gets checked empty. I use it to bring back various items and souvenirs that I purchase along the way and except for the tablet traveling in my Osprey bag as my personal item, everything was packed in my convertible soft side carry-on bag, which weighed 16 pounds.

I'm not fashionable and at home I'm a shorts and t-shirt kind of guy, I work outside in all weather and at one time I cycled to work. I'm comfortable in a very wide range of temperatures and weather conditions, but when I travel I'll dress less like hiker trash and switch to trousers. I tend to dress in layers, so as autumn temperatures start to cool I'll wear pullovers. Early autumn tends to be just a single pullover, and that can get pulled off and stuck in my bag when building interiors are too warm or as the day warms up. The first half of the trip the lightweight pullovers were more than sufficient and by the last half I'd switched to the medium weight pullovers, but I never needed to double up layers.

Creating a 'Packing List' for the last two weeks before a big trip can be such a lifesaver! It really helps to stay organized and ensure you don’t forget any essentials. From daily toiletries to last-minute tech gadgets and travel documents, having a clear checklist takes away so much stress. It’s also a great way to prioritize what's really needed versus overpacking. I’ve found that focusing on versatile clothing and must-have items like chargers and snacks has been key to keeping things manageable. Do you also pack in stages, like prepping non-essentials early and leaving the daily-use items for the last minute?"

This opens the door to further conversation while giving practical insights into the packing process.

Amanda, I think you're right on the money. That's a dodgy link in her post. I've reported it as well.

That looks like a good working list, VAP. I tend to dress down (me and most of the other Minnesotans) and love to be comfortable when I travel.
