Best battery operated travel night light?

Frequent travel and one who all-too-often has to leave a bathroom light on overnight. Can anyone recommend a small, rechargeable nightlight that can just be placed on top of a bathroom counter??

Would prefer rechargeable so that I do not plug it into the wall overnight.

We bring battery operated tea lights, 3 for $1.25 from the Dollar Tree. It provides just enough glow.

This isn’t a solution - just a comment. I stayed at the MOXY Hotel at the Malpensa airport last year with my adult daughter. When you step out of bed, a nightlight glow under the bed turns on to provide just enough light to walk to the bathroom. I thought that was such a nice safety feature!

We travel with tiny USB night lights. They weigh practically nothing, take up negligible space, use very little power, don't require another battery and they are dirt cheap. If you already carry a power bank, you can use that as your power source and place wherever. Otherwise, a hotel usb port or your own USB adapter can power it. We are old school and use USB A male end lights but I see they carry USB C as well. Search Amazon under "USB Night Light" .

I purchased one of
"Motion Sensor Lights Indoor,Rechargeable Portable LED Night Light with USB Cable,Cordless Wall Light with Auto/On/Off for Cupboard, Wardrobe, Closet, Kitchen, Stairs, Bedroom, Hallway"

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rechargeable-Portable-Wireless-Wardrobe-Kitchen/dp/B08PL3S8B8/ref=aststodp_puis?th=1

about 2 years ago and we love it so much when travelling and at home I just bought a second a couple of months ago.

Don't know if they are on US Amazon. Probably though.

Charge by USB-C (cord included) and last for a really long time on a charge. Takes a short time to charge. Slightly large but the 2 disappear into our luggage. We have it set for motion detect which is excellent, at the dimmest setting which is plenty. Has several brightness settings if you want brighter. We have the second one on the second lowest setting.

I never have had them run out of juice. When at home I recharge every couple of months regardless, when travelling I charge before we leave and top up when we get home.

I have the same one as Mardee and Andrea and also think it’s great.

I went on a trip with my friend a couple months ago where we shared a bathroom. First thing she said after night one….. I LOVE that nightlight!

She has one now, too 😂

Same as Mardee. In fact, I think I recommended this in 2024? They work great and keep a charge for a long time - like, months. Motion activation is great, they turn off quickly (sometimes too quickly lol - just wave your arm around and it will come back on). I actually use one at home at the top of our stairs at night.

Another big fan of the rechargeable night light. Took it all over our 3 week trip to Norway this summer, only charged it once.

I also think it was you who first recommended that nightlight!
It was in a post about lots of various travel ideas, and I was so happy with it I decided it needed it's own post.
Two years later, it still gets used on every trip.
Thank you!

This isn't exactly what the OP asked for, but I sleep with my smartwatch on, primarily for monitoring my sleep but it also provides a handy little flashlight app that is just bright enough to light my way without waking my wife.

Another vote for the Auvon rechargeable motion detector night light previously recommended by someone on the forum. Came as a pair from Amazon and used on a three week trip to France as well as around the house during a power outage and for various local travels. I did have to pick up a USB-A adaptor for a budget hotel in Reims, but that was easily done.

I have the same one as Mardee and it works great and takes up such a tiny about of room.

Not rechargeable, but this is what we we use in hotels. Depending on the configuration/size of hotel room, we may have 3 lights placed in different locations. One on desk/dresser, one in sink area, and one by the toilet.

We were in Switzerland for a month this summer and only used 4 total.
We even use them in our camping trailer.
I first heard about using light lights on this Forum. They are an essential item on ALL our trips.

My Garmin watch has a flashlight so this is ideal for hotels. No more need to buy any travel nightlights.

On trips that I need to fly, I only use my phones flashlight, but for road trips I take the little nightlight since I leave it on all night. I don't put it right next to the bed as that is too bright for me, but usually in the bathroom and that allows enough light for a bathroom visit in the middle of the night.
