Hi everyone. We're planning a trip from Florence to Siena this fall and at the moment we'll be in Siena for four nights. Thinking about taking the bus to Siena and renting a car when we get there. Please, any suggestions about traveling by bus and the process of renting a car there? This is our first time doing this, so we definitely need some help with this.
Thank you
The bus trip is covered frequently on the forum, Two recent posts:

Make sure all drivers have an IDP
We always book thru AutoEurope.com
Thank you, Markcw and ChristineH. By any chance, is the rental car near the bus station?
The bus from Florence drops you up in town, not near the rental agencies.
Use Google maps to locate the rental agencies at bottom of town along with train station.
If you are picking up your car to keep while in Siena it makes most sense to take the train from Florence to Siena- then probably a taxi or a bit of a walk to the rental agencies. Be sure to check their hours.
We stayed six nights in Siena a couple of months ago. Wonderful city, with 700 year old buildings.
We didn't see many places to park a vehicle. Suggest booking a rental car upon departing from Siena.
Here is link for parking garages in Siena. It also provides fee information for each lot. I agree with Christine about taking the train if you plan to rent a car.

Thank you everyone for the help. It makes sense to take the train. The hotel that we'll be staying in has a garage. We're looking forward to exploring and making some memories.
