Headed to montorosso tomorrow. Any great suggestions on out of the way”local/non tourist” restaurants/trattorias/osterios while in cinque terre. . Hotel is in montorosso but willing to explore for ambiance/recommended eateries. Thanks so much!! Barbara
Just remember that the CT villages are VERY small so there is little that can be considered "off the grid" s far as restaurants. And just because tourists might enjoy them doesn't mean they're not good! Some recommendations:

I'm not sure you'll find any "non tourist" restaurants in Monterosso, as it's a very popular tourist location. Which hotel will you be staying at?
Some of the restaurants I've enjoyed there, and a few other popular ones are.....
- Cantina di Miky (right on the main street in the new town, close to the rail station.... don't confuse this with the more expensive Miky which is nearby).
- Risorante Belvedere (right on the beach in the old town)
- Ciak (a short distance up Via Roma in the old town)
- Ristorante L'Alta Marea (a short distance up Via Roma in the old town)

We went tp the farmers market in Monterosso. We were in an Airbnb and picked up food, veg and some nice clothes there. There was also people from a local winery. We bought bottles of lovely frizzante wine for a song. Picnic on the beach?
We just stayed in Vernazza and were thrilled with our Airbnb and food choices. We ate twice at La Torre but you need to arrive early and/or make a reservation. The Giani Franzi “deck” with the blue umbrellas was very good - the caprese salad was great. The Pirata at the top of the town was fantastic for breakfast! And we highly recommend it for take away cappuccino. We hiked to Corniglia and can only recommend the Alberto basil gelato. Enjoy!
Belforte in Vernazza if you're looking for a special place for dinner. Food, location, setting, staff, all top-notch (not fussy or snooty, just really good!). As someone else mentioned, not much in those little towns can be considered "off-the-grid" or "un-discovered", so best just to look for the places that both locals and tourists alike recommend.
