I've made hotel reservations in Sorrento and want to take my husband to the Archeological Park and Greek ruins in Paestum. How should we get there and do you have any tour advice? My husband will find this the highlight of our trip to Italy.

Are you in Sorrento for just one night? We visited Paestum, then stayed one night in Salerno. The next day, we continued on to Sorrento, where we stayed several nights. That broke up the travel time and distance.

Will you have a rental car?
google map shows driving is a 1.5-2.5 hr trek, each way.
Using public transportation options will use ~ 3 hrs each way.
Sorrento is really a poor choice from which to do a day trip to Paestum. The geography/topography work against anything being 'quick & efficient'
