Reykjavik South Coast Tour Company

We are a family of 4 looking for a small group tour to the Southeast Coast of Iceland. We would like to it be between 10-12 hours with less than 20 participants. Do you have any recommendations or avoid certain company information? We are currently looking at Arctic Adventures. Thank you!

Hi, Debbie, mikliz97, who frequently posts here because she has been to Iceland multiple times (I think it's in the double digits now), recently posted this response to someone else looking for tours, and she discusses several tour companies in here, including Arctic Adventures. I would totally trust her judgment, as she knows whereof she speaks. 😊 https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/iceland/recommendations-for-4-day-guided-tour-in-late-sept

You also might want to read her recent trip report, as she was just there in March and used several tour companies then as well. I would definitely look through that. https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/trip-reports/iceland-trip-report-march-2026

I used GeoIceland and enjoyed my day with them. But mikliz97 is definitely way more in tune with tour companies so I'm sure they will weigh in soon.

Many highly recommend both Troll and Nice Travel, both local companies. We used Nice for part of a trip last September and were very happy with our guides and accommodations. They both have lots of options, so you can easily compare with AA. Good luck!

We have done a south coast day tour with Troll and were very pleased. It was supposed to be a 2 day tour, but weather cancelled the second day. This was February 2022. We just got back last week from another trip and this time we used Nice Travel and Bus Travel Iceland for different day tours, and would highly recommend any of these three. We have not used Arctic Adventures yet. We had a trip booked with them for last week but it was cancelled due to weather. I will say they were great though and processed the refund promptly, which is also what Troll did for that second day. All of these companies use small buses, so max 19 people. I would take a look at all of their websites and see what tours look good to you. They are mostly the same, but will sometimes throw in something a bit different just to stand out. If you have any questions, just ask.
