Guidebook question

I’m spending two ish days in Budapest before a Christmas market/knitting cruise on the Danube. Usually I would purchase the rs book for that region of the world to help with planning. Unfortunately the new edition of rs Central Europe is released during my trip. My question is should I purchase the current one or will the advice be less useful than usual ?

I don’t think the RS’s book won’t change that much in one edition. My copy is about 6 years old and for the tourism part ist pretty accurate. The RS video on Budapest is pushing 20 years old and it really does have some shortcomings now.

Europe is very old, and changes come slow. Maybe hotels and restaurants will be the hardest hit. You can check here for updates: https://www.ricksteves.com/europe/guidebook-updates

I will send you a PM with a link to something that includes a 2-day tour for the riverboat folks. (Section 2.3 about page 61 I think) and a few other ideas that might help.
