I booked an Airbnb property in Bologna, Italy, for one night. The host sent me a link to upload my personal information (including a photo, passport, etc.) via an online service called Vikey. I know Italy (and some other countries) require Airbnbs to at least look at passports as a part of the check-in process. The other Airbnbs I have booked for this trip do not require me to upload this information online. However, that may be because the hosts will meet us in person at check-in to review our passports.
Has anyone else done this before? Is this legit?
