Is anyone else having a problem with Travel Guard Insurance reviewing and paying a claim?
Seems slow processing is not uncommon.
At least one person got action after a complaint to the Insurance Cmmissioner.
Good luck
We filed a claim with Seven Corners in early July. I just received a decision last week.
It took them three months to approve my claim, which they did the day after being contacted by my state insurance commissioner's office. Here's another thread about my claim and one from Nevada with similar experience. I have no complaint about the decision, but the delay and the opaque process (until the day after official contact) were inexcusable.
It's too bad that RSE uses and promotes this company. There must be a better choice for them, I'm sure there will be for me next time.
I've read a lot of complaints about slow response from travel insurance companies since the pandemic began. My guess (based on nothing, I admit) is that this is sort of like the situation with airline delays: There are plenty of problems to go around, not limited to just one or two companies. I wouldn't hesitate to use Travel Guard if I wanted the sort of insurance it offers; as long as I'm traveling independently, I figure all I really need is my existing good medical insurance and an evacuation policy.
