Shipping stuff home from Amsterdam

Im shopping my way through Amsterdam (best of all shopping cities) and need to pack up a box or two to send back home to the U.S..
I've looked and asked and can't find how to do that here.. Apparently the post office here is nonexistent as far as shipping goes, and no one can tell me how.
Anyone know how?

DHL has shipping offices in Amsterdam and at Schipol. Probably your best bet.

It appears FedEx also has a location at or near the airport.

We used DHL from several locations in Europe last year. Pack your belongings well, one of the boxes we sent home was torn quite badly. If you're sending something delicate, I'd even suggest wrapping it in something sturdy before placing it in the container provided by the shipper. It will take a while for the package to arrive in the US unless you spend a boatload of money; we sent our packages to a relative who we knew would be available to accept the packages.

Ship your inexpensive purchases home and carry home the expensive stuff (if you can). Your customs exemption applies to articles accompanying you home but things that are shipped will have duty payable upon entry to the U.S. (DHL, et al will pay the duty and you'll reimburse them before getting your stuff).

If you can pack light, you can purchase a relatively cheap nylon duffel bag for your purchases there and bring them home on the flight as part of your checked luggage. If not, an additional luggage fee is still cheaper than shipping.

Keep the expensive stuff in your carry-on, pack your clothes in the cheap nylon bag and put the other purchases in the bag you brought with you.
