We are planning to visit a family in Italy this summer and would love to give them a paperback picture book. Thanks for your suggestions.
Hi, Becky. That is an awfully broad question. A paperback picture book of what? It would help to know if this is for adults or children, or if it is to showcase someplace in the US?
EDIT: I just saw that you have another post that you added later to clarify this question. To anyone that comes to this thread, here is a link for the post that gives a bit more information: https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/italy/can-you-help-with-suggestions-for-a-picture-book-gift-to-take-to-an-italian-family
This is a great question for your local bookseller. There are lots of "coffee table" books featuring photos of the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Perhaps one of them has come out in a paperback version. Because you live in Seattle, there is a local bookstore near you. Here is a great resource for finding one: https://www.seattlebookstoreday.com
We will be giving the book to a family with a mother and father and a 14 y/o boy. We are open to ideas other than a book if it will pack safety.
Becky,
Based on the parts of the US our French relatives have enjoyed the most/been most impressed with, I suggest a coffee table book with photos of the Southwest...the southwest (Arizona and Utah) National parks, Mojave Desert, Grand Canyon, New Mexico, Death Valley, parts of the Rockies. It is the most different from the European scenery.
Thank you all for the great suggestions!
