Hi everyone,
I'm in my mid-20s and a post-graduate/Masters student here in London (moved here from Seattle, WA). I'm trying to make the most out of my time here to travel around Europe. I have about 10 - 12 days in Mid-March (March 14th on wards) and would like to use it to travel with my boyfriend. So far we have been to Istanbul, Paris, Brussels, and Lisbon and have a trip to Iceland and Scotland planned in February. I love exploring cities but the Pacific Northwesterner in me is missing some of the outdoor hiking. For that reason, I'd love part of the March trip to involve some hiking (light or moderate) and enjoying scenery but I also understand that a lot of Europe may still be cold and drizzly. I also understand that we are close to some incredible (and affordable) cities like Prague, Vienna, etc. and feel that while we are here, maybe we should just take advantage of that. We are considering using some of our British Airways Avios to cut down the cost of the trip.
Possible destinations of interest:
Ljubljana and Lake Bled for five days but will snow in Lake Bled be an issue?
Also considering Prague - Vienna - Munich.
Any thoughts on Malta and Gozo for five days in Mid-March? Would the weather be decent? Saw that there is a ferry between Malta and Sicily and was considering adding that to the trip for a total of 10 days.
I initially was set on going to Cinque Terre and/or Dubrovnik but read weather is not ideal. Based on your experience, would Cinque Terre in mid-March be enjoyable weather wise and would it be possible to train to Venice from there?
Quite open to other options so any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated.
