Luxembourg

Planning a solo visit to Luxembourg in September. Only been there once when I was 12 in the '60s. Interested in recommendations about:

--Moderate or inexpensive price hotel in Luxembourg city, especially (but not only) locally owned as opposed to chains. Wondering if there are regulations that prevent AirBnB-type rentals from becoming so numerous that neighborhoods are ruined for locals, because if so then I'd be open to recommendations of those kinds of rentals.

--Places to day-hike anywhere in the nation, especially wooded, any level of difficulty. Love places with cascading streams, gorges, etc. Not as interested in bucolic settings or village walks, unless you want to convince me!

--Any other not-to-be-missed suggestions nation-wide, including places to hear jazz or rock or folk, good restaurants, whatever.

Thanks!

We stayed at Hotel JJ32 which was quite basic but well located and moderately priced. In terms of hikes, you have the whole Ardennes area but I don't know any hiking places specifically. We really enjoyed visiting Vianden but that was more for the castle. We had a very nice lunch there at Beim Hunn.

I can recommend the Hotel Simoncini

Centrally located and unique. The owner also owns an art gallery so there is a lot of art all over the hotel.
