I suspect a lot of people may be blindsided by this -- it does not seem to have received much attention here (for example), but given Lufthansa's very large footprint, it has the potential to impact a lot of travelers to destinations across Europe.

If you are flying to your European destination on a ticket purchased from United, and you have a connection in Germany to someplace else, this will probably bite you (Lufthansa is United's major partner in Europe, and many United passengers may not even realize they are flying on Lufthansa aircraft after they connect in FRA or MUC).

The Rules for Summer 2022: If in Germany, take the train,
If in Britain, fly on a plane.
If in Spain, either will do,
If in France, neither will do,
If at Schipol, book your flight on a Drone
You’ll have a much greater chance of getting back home.

If flying through Schiphol, find a different routing.

If in Italy...have another gelato, you're in Italy.

The Lufthansa site did not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling about how they are working around the problem, and taking care of customers.

And it will not be only the 27th that is disrupted. Getting planes and crews to the right place will not be instantaneous.

Good luck to all!
