Heads-up: Lufthansa strike expected Wednesday 27 July

The trade union representing Lufthansa ground staff has announced a one-day strike scheduled for Wednesday July 27.
Looks like The Summer of Travel Challengesⓒ series continues with a new blow-up every few days. Here's this week's episode...

dw.com: German union calls for Lufthansa ground staff to strike

The union claims "Lufthansa has cut too many staff during the pandemic."

Lufthansa has warned that "Cancellations and delays will take place".

Duh...

Pack your patience....but only in your small carry-on.

If everyone takes a carry-on there will not be enough overhead bin space. So, not just a simple fix. Ground staff also effects your gate. So, if the plane can't get to the gate there is no plane ride. We had this experience last week in Hawaii. We had a layover in Maui going to Kona. What we learned was Southwest doesn't have that many gates. So, we sat on the runway for 45 minutes before we got to our gate and then, we waited 3 hours past our departure time to Kona because there was no gate.

I'm wondering about the ripple effects of this in the days and weeks to come. Seems dreadful and I feel terrible for everyone affected.
