Even though online renewal is supposed to take the same 6 to 8 weeks for standard processing, I received my new passport in the mail just 12 days after submitting the application. Wasn’t expecting that! Not sure if that is typical, or if I would have had a similar result with a mail-in application, but could be the way to go for anyone up for a renewal soon ?
I'll do you one better - if my email records are to be believed, I received my new passport five calendar days after my online renewal application in January of last year.
WOW this is wonderful
That’s fortunate news, austerkane! Another recent report, from Pat, said that her husband’s passport, applied-for by mail, came in just 10-days:(https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/general-europe/renewed-passport-in-ten-days). Looks like a less-than-two-weeks result could be a current trend, and an encouraging one. Happy travels with your new passport!
13 days for us, a couple of months ago for online renewal!
New technology over time makes things easier faster for renewals.
My husband and I applied for a renewed passport on the same day. His took about 10 days, while mine took 5 weeks. No explanation as to why. It wasn't an issue as we don't need it until August.
In a week of boring news this is Good news! Maybe Huey Lewis will burst into song again.
Perhaps the US Government should take over the making of, and deliveries of the “rock sold guaranteed assembled in the USA” Gold coloured Trump phone. A cheapie, not 18ct gold. Anyone know where in Florida the assembly is being done? Are the Trump boys showcasing a demonstration of how-to do-it-yourself seminar?
Pity it is not solid gold because my mates and I have some bars tucked away in the garden shed and investments in Northern Star Resources. Would push the price of gold up further than the 60% gain since his inauguration. We are greedy too.
Kind regards Ron
