My husband just renewed his US Passport. He mailed it April 29 and received the new one yesterday. He did not pay for any expedited service.
Just sharing for other folks who need to renew theirs. Good luck!

That is incredibly fast! I am happy for him. My American passport expires in a couple of years but I may apply for renewal much earlier when I get a bigger break between international travels.

Wow -- that was indeed very fast. Others should not count on anything that fast. You were lucky. Did you get the president's picture and signature? Did you get the new format with plastic pages?

Since they mailed in his request, they wouldn't have gotten the passport with the photo of President Trump, as according to the media, it is only available to persons applying in person at the Washington DC passport office on 19th Street, NW.

The astounding thing to me is the USPS got the mail to/from Texas that quickly.

Pat, I’m glad his passport wasn’t “defaced” with a second face! And the USPS for passport delivery is clearly effective, should anyone be considering making a personal trip all the way to D.C. instead.

Pat, I just looked this up out of curiosity, and apparently the two-faced passports won’t be obtainable until just before July 4, 2026, so he’d have had to wait to get his passport replaced, had he been so inclined.
