Goslar Germany to Aeroskobing Denmark...how to get there?

Has anyone traveled from Goslar to Aero, Denmark by train, bus, ferry and is the 12hr journey full of interesting sights or is it better to fly..say from Hamburg to Copenhagen then ferry to Aeroskobing?

Hi,

If you are coming from Goslar, the first thing you need to do is to get on a trunk line in order to reach Hamburg. Take the train Goslar to Hannover Hbf, then change to the ICE to Hamburg Hbf. From there you can decide which option to take, fly or continue with the train to Copenhagen.

Thank you for your reply. More specifically, I would like to know, please, after you leave Hamburg on the train, is the long ride to Denmark worth it? Is there scenery or is it just a very long journey? And if I read other responses and the map correctly, isn't there a ferry involved in this trek or does the train go all the way to Copenhagen? If so, from Goslar, what would you say the total travel time is to arrive in CPN? I am trying to figure out whether it is best to fly, say from Berlin, Hamburg, or... to Copenhagen (final destination is Aeroskobing).

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

I have never taken the train from Hamburg to Copenhagen, can't help you with that information. The farthest I have traveled in that direction by train is Hamburg to Kiel via Neumünster, and Kiel to Eutin/Holstein. Hamburg Hbf is junction point in North Germany for trains going directly north, ie Copenhagen, east (Schwerin ), south (Hannover) , southwest (Berlin Hbf), westward (Bremen, and to Cuxhaven, Wilhelmshaven, etc)

The Hamburg airport serves the major cities and capitals in the north.

You checked the other thread you have opened on the topic, haven't you?

The train from Hamburg to Svendborg takes 5 hours. The train from Copenhagen to Svendborg takes 2 hours. So you'd have only 3 hours from Hamburg Main Station to Hamburg Airport to Copenhagen Airport to Copenhagen Main station to beat train-only travel. That won't work. From Hannover it's not much different.

And of course, there are a zillion of interesting sights on the way. If you were more specific what you are interested in, we could give you good advice where to stop and look.

If you just wanted to know if the sights from the train window are impressive, I'd say not so. Apart from Hamburg harbour, the crossing of the Kiel Canal and the bridge to Fyn, it's mostly forests and fields you will see.
