Country Four - Bosnia & Herzegovina

Sort of a technicality. Driving to Dubrovnik requires a few miles through BiH. Entering BiH all that was checked was the passport. Took 1 minute.

Reentering, no passport check, just waved through.

Back in Croatia and heading for Dubrovnik

James. Did you drive from Split? Did you notice the new bridge they are building to avoid driving through Bosnia in the future? We always stopped to have a burek and purchase coffee in Neum. Their business is going to suffer when the bridge is complete.

I did. Drove around to the Dubrovnil Croatian side too.

Exercise increased caution in Bosnia and Herzegovina due to terrorism and land mines. Exercise normal precautions due to COVID-19.

Read the Department of State's COVID-19 page before you plan any international travel.

Country Summary: Terrorist groups continue plotting possible attacks in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Terrorists may attack with little or no warning, targeting tourist locations, transportation hubs, markets/shopping malls, local government facilities, hotels, clubs, restaurants, places of worship, parks, major sporting and cultural events, educational institutions, airports, and other public areas.

Minefields and land mines are present throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. While suspected hazardous areas are normally clearly marked, several people are killed or injured each year.
