Air Transfer - CDG

Wonder if there are any people here with recent experience on CDG airport, 2F to 2E?
I would be travelling on Saturday about noon in October (which I understand to be busy time from google) with 1 hour 40 min to make flight back to States from other EU country.

I appreciate that there is other stuff written about this, but wonder if anyone has very recent experiences or insights?
https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/france/cdg-transfer-from-2f-to-2e This thread was helpful but closed.
There's also a few minute video of someone doing the transfer, with fast dance music. (LOL, that won't be me)

My understanding is that passport control can be a crapshoot at busy times.
Thanks in advance for replies/insights. I booked flight last evening and still have a few hours to cancel.

Are your flights all on one ticket? Meaning you will have been given your onward boarding pass when you check in for the first flight AND the airline will have a duty of care to get you to your destination.

Is there another flight later in the day from Paris to your destination?

Passport control is a crapshoot at any major airport including CDG.

If you are taking separate flights meaning they are not connected by one itinerary and CDG is merely a layover airport as opposed to a connection, allow a minimum of 4 hours.

Yes - it's connecting flight; so I think one ticket. I like the phrase "duty of care"

There aren't any more direct flights to my home city that day; but admittedly it not the last pony out of Paris.

We have gone through CDG Airport a few times in the past 5 years, since we fly Delta and Skyteam member Air France frequently.
We have done the transfer from 2E to 2F and less occasionally from 2F to 2E.
There is a walkway under the street that does take some time to go through.

We never missed a flight and the shortest time we had was a little less than 2 hours.
If you were going from a transatlantic flight to a domestic flight, 1 hour and 40 minutes might be workable.
Going the other way, it might be more of a problem. You might make it, you might not.

If France is your last EU country, then you will have to go through passport control.

I suggest that call your airline. Is there another flight after the one you are scheduled for going to your US destination.
The backup would be that the airline could change your booking, or if you missed your flight, they could still get you home.
