Please recommend mid-range hotels within 5 min walking distance to a metro station. $250-300/night. Thanks.
Hi,
There are dozens, hundreds even. It would help if you could pinpoint 2-3 neighborhoods where you would like to stay?
Grand Hotel des Balcons was lovely. Shared a room with my granddaughter back in 2017. The location was great - near Metro Odeon and a couple of blocks from the Gardin de Luxembourg

This would be our first visit to Paris. We are senior citizen couple both 65+. I have no idea which part of the city is preferred. I assume away from crowded areas, yet easily accessible by metro. Prefer short walk to a metro station. Plan to spend 4 days visiting top places in Paris and 1 day visiting Versailles.

I have reserved a fully cancellable room in Hotel Lenox, Montparnesse. But will continue looking.
Montmartre is a steeply hilly area. Some of the metros there are deeply underground, and if the escalators are out of service, you have MANY steps to climb! If you have any mobility issues at all, I would stay in another neighborhood.
(speaking as a senior citizen).
Judy, the OP said she reserved near Montparnasse, not Montmartre,
I believe Montparnasse is pretty flat
I am a male.

Has anyone stayed at the Hotel DeLambre?

This is also a 3-star hotel but much cheaper.
Oops! My bad!
Hotel Lenox Montparnasse is a much nicer hotel in terms of finishes than Hotel Delambre. They are on the same street. Both are French 3 star hotels but the French star system does not measure quality of the decor.
