Hotel and restaurant recommendations for Honfleur and then to Bayeaux..restaurants in May, 2024?

Taking a rental out of Paris , stopping by Giverny and on to Honfleur for our first night in France. Any suggestions for a place to stay and a nice restaurant? We drive on to Bayeaux the next day and stay two nights. We'll be looking for great place to eat dinner both nights. Thanks for your help. Any other tips or suggestions about the drive or two cities are welcome. Thanks!

I have not visited Honfleur yet, so I'm no help there. If you haven't already booked your two nights in Bayeux, do it STAT! Not sure when you'll be there in May, but the closer it is to June 6 (the 80th anniversary of the Normandy Invasion), the harder it will be to snag a hotel room. We were there late May last year, and most hotels were booked 3 months before our trip. We needed a room for 5 nights (not 2), which admittedly made it that much harder.

Here is a recent thread that addresses many of your questions re: Bayeux. I included some restaurant recs there:

The RS France and Normandy guidebooks include many Bayeux hotel options. Many of them are described in the above thread and others (from 2022, which I had saved for planning our 2023 trip):

We loved Bayeux...and so does everyone it seems, which is why you should book ASAP. Apologies if I sound like Chicken Little ("the sky is falling"), especially if you've already booked your Bayeux accommodations. I thought we were ahead of the game by booking 3 months ahead, and wow was I wrong! It will only be more impacted this year due to the 80th Anniversary.

Bon Chance!
