Positives:
1. Great location across from the tapestry museum and other sites of interest
2. Very nice breakfast ( not included) €14 pp
3. Lovely lounge
Negatives:
4. No elevator ; difficult curved staircase and no porter
5. Rumbling and shaking ( at least in our room #9) until past midnight and starting up again at 5 am both nights we were there
6. Entire Lovely lounge was reserved for private gatherings both evenings we were there (6:00 pm and 6:30 pm) - cocktail hour😩
7. Our friends reported no water pressure in their shower on the second floor
Thanks for posting. One of my major pet peeves is when a hotel closes its Entire Lovely Lounge for private gatherings.
In 2019, we stayed at the Hotel d'Argouges in Bayeux when a Rick Steves tour group was also there. On one night the tour group had a cocktail hour, and the hotel made another room available for the rest of us - very considerate.
What a shame you couldn’t have dinners there, wonderful! I still remember the breakfast spread as it had a delicious bread pudding.
We didn’t have to carry our luggage upstairs, staff did that for us.
We would stay here again. We enjoyed learning about all the WWII generals who stayed there too.
