We will be visiting London for the 1st time in early October and I’ve been researching afternoon teas. Most posts here are a few years old, so wish to hear your recent favorite afternoon tea spots. We’re staying in the Westminster area.
The Wolseley, it’s great, you need to make reservations.
Here are a number of posts that were all created in the last 6 months about afternoon tea in London.

I second the recommendation of The Wolseley. We thoroughly enjoyed it! Classy, fun, not too posh and very reasonable cost wise.
How much do you wish to pay? Formal? Casual?
All sorts of afternoon tea options a available.
Thanks for the input and links- when I used search these recent ones didn’t pop right up. Sorry
We don’t want something we have to pack fancy clothes for- prefer a smart casual place. Had narrowed it down to The Wolsley, the Savoy, Fortnum and Mason, Goring, and Oblyx at The Shard. Was just looking for input from here vs other places I’ve been reading.
So you’all have helped
Thanks for the repeat question- it reminded me I needed to work on a choice for this also, for December. Thanks for all the links, Mardee! Saved me time!
Chrisschelers17, I will be interested to know what you end up with. :)
Third vote for the Wolseley. We had a wonderful time having tea there last month.
4th vote for the Wolseley. When we went several years ago, our reservation requesting a diabetic tea was missed on their part. Not only did they still come up with a lovely and delicious version, they made it complementary; we were understanding of the mix-up and certainly appreciated their above and beyond response.
My wife and daughter went to Fortnum & Mason's (where the royals shop) last year and enjoyed: https://www.fortnumandmason.com/diamond-jubilee-tea-salon
Oh, yes, Fortnum & Mason would be divine, but years back I remember us making an impromptu decision to go to The Orangery at Kensington Palace for tea and though we were dressed very casually we were treated very well. The room was elegant and the tea goodies delicious.
We have booked at the Wolsley! Thanks for all your help
