Which to visit National Slate Museum in Llanberis or Llechwedd Slate Caverns in Blaenau Ffestiniog

These both look like they are about the same distance from Conwy. Anyone visited these? Any opinions on which would be the better one to visit? We'll stop at the Trefriw Woolen Mills on the way there or back which looks like it is about half way between Conwy and either of these. And for Ed, there will be 4 middle aged adults with no physical handicaps traveling in a rental car with only a morning to dedicate to this. Thanks

The slate place would he my choice, during the lecture they ask for volunteers to have a go at splitting, its a big site in great surroundings.
It also makes a nice circular from Conwy taking you over Llanberis Pass and the towering views up to Crib Coch.
Even if you don,t ride its only a 10min walk from the slate place across to the snowden railway and if you have time the Electric Mountain tour might be worth a look.
If you want to rub shoulders with outdoors types, Petes Eats is an institution.

Llanberis also has the very cool remains of a castle that you can walk around.

Thanks. That's what I thought--just wanted to make sure. We only get one shot at this (maybe), want to get it right.

I'm afraid we don't have a Welsh expert in-house. Hope it's a great visit!
