Welsh wedding spoons

These look beautiful in the pics I've seen and I'd like to purchase a pair. Does any one have suggestions on where to purchase and also approximate price range? Thanks, RS travelers.

Every gift shop, souvenir store, castle shop, heritage place.

Twenty buck, maybe.

Wood, metal, cast, carved, forged. About every way possible. Hand-carved beats me.

My whole knowledge is that my wife called once and told me to grab a bunch for stocking stuffers.

I had to google what you were talking about since I think she'd called them 'love spoons'. Whatever they are, they're all over the place.

Hi Cary,

We've always purchased our lovespoons from Mike Davies. He does gorgeous work and has done some royal commissions too.

Thanks, Ed & Erica. I looked online and found cadwyngifts.com They have a large selection of spoons in various sizes & prices. I
e-mailed to see if they had a retail shop; they don't but offered to send me a list of shops in the towns we're visiting that carry their spoons.

Welsh Love Spoons are wonderful (I'm half Welsh so we had a few pairs that my parents got given on their wedding day). I got some for my friend (who is Welsh) when he got married to a French girl. Technically they're supposed to be given by the young man to the young lady, with various of the carvings meaning different things - anchor meaning I'll stay etc, whilst the spoon represents his ability to provide for her - but they also look nice to have mounted on the wall. There are lots of websites to buy them from, if I remember rightly I got them from this website: http://www.welsh-love-spoons.com/products.php (although this was back in 2010, so my memory might be at fault).
