I would like a recommendation for a driver and guide to take me to Tonypandy (north of Cardiff) to research family where my father was born.

I wonder whether the Glamorgan Family History society may be able to assist you with this- https://www.glamfhs.org.uk/
They certainly have access to a lot of research material which is not on line. I would suspect they may be able to put you in touch with a local genealogist who would be able to be a guide for the day.
