Looking for feedback on Castle View B&B in Chepstow

Has anyone stayed at Castle View, 16 Bridge Street, since it ceased being a hotel and is now as I understand being operated as a B&B? Four of us plan to be there on a driving trip of SW England and Wales on May 12 to 14.

Thanks for any comments on Castle View or other B&Bs or small hotels in this general area of South Wales.

A large car park is opposite - by the castle. You have to pay to park between 9am & 5pm. Not sure if hotel has parking around the back. Note that Chepstow has narrow streets and a one way traffic scheme, (Through traffic can by-pass the town centre).

Suggest you Google ‘TripAdvisor Castle View Hotel Chepstow’ to get reviews of this & any other place where you plan to stay.

Hello Dee, The Castle View is located just a five minute walk outside one of the walled city's entrances. Yes, they have a free customer parking lot located on their property. There is another pay lot just outside their property. Terrific breakfast. Room a little tired, clean, efficient. Wonderful, helpful management. Last summer they did offer a discount for RS customers. ASK! I would stay there again. Alfredo's is a terrific fair priced Italian restaurant located on the city square inside the city walls very near the Castle view. You - DO NEED - reservations so ask early on arrival or better yet call ahead or be disappointed. Questios? Have fun. Emma

Thanks, James and Emma for your feedback. For the first time I have not rented a car but hired Colin Gibson of Gibson's Private Driven Tours, www.driven-tours.com, to drive the three of us. With his knowledge and GPS and my carefully planned itinerary for 11 days, we are looking forward to a memorable trip starting May 7.
