We want to travel from wales to cork, and then fly back to California from Ireland. Do you have any suggestions on how to do this?

There is a ferry from Holyhead, Wales, to Dublin. You can drive or take a train to Cork from Dublin.

It depends whether you are starting from north or south wales. If the South there are ferries from Fishguard and Pembroke to Rosslare.
Then drive or bus via Waterford. Or train via Dublin.
If in South wales you can also go to Bristol airport for flights to Cork on Aer Lingus, if in the North to Liverpool or Manchester for flights to Cork on Ryanair.
