Hotels and Guesthouses in Cardiff

We will be visiting Cardiff this Fall. If anyone has experience (good or bad) with hotels or guesthouses in that city, I'd appreciate your sharing.

Will you have a car? What sites do you want to see? What is your budget? Be aware that if you plan to visit when there is an event on at the main Stadium finding accommodation can be a struggle, but as there won't be the usual Rugby internationals this Fall because of the World Cup you should hopefully be ok. There is a Premier Inn in the city centre and a new one in Cardiff Bay which are clean and well priced. The Angel Hotel has period charm and located by the Castle. If you have a car you might prefer to stay out of the City Centre. The Old Post B&B is well located for St Fagans museum of Welsh Life and has free parking and a weekday Bistro.

We stayed in downtown Cardiff at the Sandringham Hotel. Parking is at a multi-level garage about 2 blocks away.
The hotel is clean, a bit old, but the people nice, the location is great and breakfast is very good. Also, the price was great.
