We are traveling to the United Kingdom and Ireland soon and I am wondering if it is allowed to travel to those countries with over the counter medications like DayQuil and NyQuil. We would like to take them with us in case we pick up a cold while we are traveling like we did last year. Have any of you had any problems taking these kinds of medications with you? Thanks so much!
The US State department has profiles for each country and links to check allowed medications. Not all countries have the same requirements, so it is always best to check each time you travel. (click on "health" topic)

I recently took over the counter day/night cold meds in their blister packs to the UK and was not asked about them (or anything else for that matter, so take that with grain of salt).
Considering their size and that they would have to be in checked baggage, wouldn’t it be easier just to buy them (or something comparable) there, if you need them?
Honestly, I’ve traveled with them for years and no one‘s ever noticed. Maybe I’m just lucky.
Those, or at least similar products are available in the UK, so yes, taking them should be fine. As others said, rare that anyone would pull you aside to check, but if they did, no issues.
Just curious, are you referring to the liquid or pill version of this medication? Traveling with pills would be easier than liquids. I brought pill versions of OTC cold meds in my personal item when traveling to England and other countries with no problems.
Thanks everyone! I bought the pill versions of these medications and plan to take them. I looked them up on the suggested websites and I don't see anything that is banned. I am glad to know that none of you have experienced issues while traveling with these meds. Happy Travels!
