We’re driving from Conwy to Llangollen via Ruthin (we’ll be visiting Betwys y Coed at a later time) and would like to stop at some spots along the way. We like old buildings, churches, graveyards, castles etc… Also, any recommendations for Llangollen. Thanks
There's lots! There are ruined castles in Rhuddlan and also at Denbigh.
Churches - there is the Marble Church at Bodelwyddan and St Asaph's Cathedral. There is also St Marcella's Church on the eastern edge of Denbigh which is worth finding. A bit of a dog leg, takes you to Corrwen and the wonderful
Rug Chapel. (Do a google image search to see what I mean.)
At Llangollen, you can do a horse drawn barge trip or a longer trip across the Pontcysyllte aqueduct.
