We haven't researched Christmas markets in Wales, but some great resources for festivals and events anywhere in Europe—and worldwide—are the following websites:

www.2camels.com

In doing my own online search I found the UK has a Christmas market website at http://www.christmasmarkets.com/UK.html and Cardiff hosts an annual Christmas market. Wales' tourism board's website has event information, see the website and contact info at http://www.visitwales.com/.

The streets of Cardiff will have a Christmas Market. Usually, the City Hall lawn is turned into what they call a 'Winter Wonderland' = an open air ice rink plus an enclosed area with mulled wine etc. You can also expect Christmas activities on a more limited scale in the Bay area. Cardiff Castle might also have special events for Christmas. http://www.cardiffchristmasmarket.com

You can easily combine Cardiff's Christmas with that at Bath (1 hour away by train).http://www.bathchristmasmarket.co.uk

Bristol will also have a Christmas Market.http://www.bristolshoppingquarter.co.uk/visitor-info/christmas

I would not go out of my way to visit Cardiff for a Christmas Market. Birmingham is reputed to have one of the better Christmas Markets in the UK. http://visitbirmingham.com/birminghams-frankfurt-christmas-market/

You will find bigger Christmas Markets on the European mainland. http://www.welovechristmasmarkets.com/index.php/uk
