Impromptu change of plans and we are now taking a day trip to Cardiff from Bath. This came together in the last 48 hours so I did not buy Rick Steves book and am looking for restaurant recommendations to decide if we want to stay for dinner. For context, we are foodies and we have a 12 year old so looking for a place with good food that is kid friendly. Thank you!

Hope you get some answers. I'm looking for recommendations in Cardiff as well. The only place I personally know of is the Potted Pig which was excellent in 2019.

I've heard that there is a fairly new and very good Portuguese restaurant in Cardiff, but I ahven't eaten there and don't know its address.
