buses from Haverfordwest to Porthmadog in Sept

I have booked accommodation in Haverfordwest and will be departing on Sept 11th, which is a Thursday, to head north to Porthmadog. We would like to take a bus along the coast and I can see that there are buses but when I search for one on almost any Thursday, the Cymru site seems to change the day to a Wednesday.

I don't know whether to interpret that to mean that those buses (through Cardigan and Aberystwyth) don't run on Thursdays or the system has a glitch (from my perspective.). Perhaps I am just misunderstanding the website. Could anyone tell me if traveling on a Thursday is an option or do I have to change my date?

While in Porthmadog we hope to visit Caernarfon, Portmeirion, Harlech and take a steam train into the mountains.

We will later head to Conwy for another few days and wondered what the advice might be on route to take using transit? I suppose the steam train to Ffestiniog is an option and then continue onto Conwy.

thanks for any advice!

The bus certainly runs daily. It must be a time zone thing. On the Traws Cymru website, on the Menu Bar go to 'routes and maps' and you can download 'paper' versions of the timetables.
If you want to go one way on either steam train you can't book that on line. You have to call them or physically go to the station.
To Conwy, apart from the trains either use the Snowdon Sherpa buses to Betws y Coed then #19, or the #T2, changing to the #5 at Caernarfon or Bangor, or train at Bangor.
Or the #T22 to Blaenau Ffestiniog then the main line train to Llandudno Junction.

EDIT- By the way a Traws Cymru Day Rover Ticket (buy on the first bus) costs £ 13

This map on the Transport for Wales website shows you how your journeys can be done. Looks like bus T5 from Haverfordwest to Aberystwyth and then T2 from Aberystwyth to Porthmadog - although this journey can also be done by train with a change at Dovey Junction. (Note that on the map, the red coloured rail lines in the more densely populated south cover a greater area than is really the case).

thanks isn31c!
you have been a great help. I was not trusting what I was seeing regarding the bus information so I am much relieved to know that the buses from Haverfordwest to Porthmadog run every day.
It feels like the planning for this trip is falling into place finally.
thanks for the tip on the Rover Day pass too!
