I’ve been checking out some of the well-known business class consolidators such as sky Lux travel and flyer club for a flight to Europe. Some have good reviews on trust pilot as well as BBB, yet I’m unclear as to how reliable and trustworthy they are. Has anyone used these companies and what is your experience?

Here's one that talked about Sky Lux: https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/italy/flights-03f2af18-20f7-4db3-b736-9378af7fa5c8

Almost 2 complaints per week, and reading just a few reveals skylux has written the 'fine print' very much in their favor. So if anything goes wrong, YOU, not them are left with the empty bag.

Long gone are the days when airlines had to use these services to move unsold tickets. In some instances they are selling you frequent flyer tickets. So they buy the miles from someone like me and sell you a ticket purchased using my miles. WHen the airline finds out the ticket is cancelled (and good luck getting the money back) and yes, that can happen midway thorugh your trip. The airline will NOT do anything to help you even if you claim you were not aware of the situation.
Their other trick is not advertising real time fares so they find a deal and advertise it, You give them your credit card " oh sorry, that sold out it's $xx more" until you basically pay the same as if you purchased direct... of course when the airline changes your fight you get to deal with your travel agent.... and do you really think these places have customer service?
As always, the rule in airfares is "if you can't find it on the airline website, take your fingers off the keyboard before you hit buy"
Take the time to do it yourself. Not difficult.
No need to involve 3rd parties.
There really should be a legal, legit way to buy discounted business class tix. Like going to the TKTS booth in Leicester Square. Every empty seat on a plane is lost revenue.
Aren't there hotel sites that do this?
Some airlines let steerage class passengers place a bid on unsold business class seats. That's how I snagged one.

It appears that no one can give you a firsthand account of using discount sellers of Business Class tickets. Most appear to savour the economy section, as recommended by Rick Steves, even though there is a multitude of evidence that more problems also exist with this class. Even if purchased directly from the airlines on Trans-Atlantic. It seems that lack of space and uncooperative babies rank high on the complaint scale.
Some are just plain jealous.
At the command of my wife, I happily authorise the purchase of Business Class for our long-haul flights. Overseas to anywhere from the Great South Land involves long-haul. With some of the best rated airlines in Asia and the world. Never had a problem that was not fixed. Two years ago, on China Eastern to Shanghai my tray table jammed. The wonderful cabin manager just moved me to an empty first-class suite. My wife was rather jealous. On special occasions she insists on Singapore Airlines special First Class Suites, dubbed the shagging room. Could not possibly comment on trans-Atlantic. Have never thought to survey my fellow passengers on how they financed their tickets. When I walk around everyone appears quite happy and contended during the flight when compared to those in economy class.
Amadeus is a longtime supplier of the software backbone of the world airline ticketing system and is now a major shareholder of Skylux. To the best of my knowledge, I am not a direct shareholder. BBB reports happily returning customers alongside complaints. No idea what the problems where. Probably not actual flight, rather administrative. People are funny. Expect to pay discount and be treated like full fare money paying long time loyal customers. They do not bother to read the fine print of the unique contract. Changing flights, for whatever reason, probably comes with penalties.
Taking risks and acceptance of adverse consequences is part of my countries culture. If the price is right, and you feel lucky give it a go and report back. Be prepared to wear the consequences of your decisions. Good and bad. In my opinion, business class on long-haul is a risk worth taking.

On my last two trips to Europe, Lufthansa and BA, I've been able to upgrade from premium economy to business class for the trip going over for just over $700 - way less than what the bidding process was indicating. I just waited until they offered. It may help to look at the upgrade option on the app frequently on days leading up to the departure - that may have given them a hint that I was interested.
Well I want to post a "rebuttal" to an earlier poster
I quite often fly to Europe in business class. No, I don't every use a consolidator nor do I pay top tier pricing.
For example in March I found an airfare from JFK to London, business class British Air $1320. I jumped on it. Used frequent flyer miles to go from ATL to JFK. There are lots of ways to fly business class without paying thousands and thousands of dollars for every flight. Honestly, I would assume that most flyers the front of the plane who are not on a company expense report have figured out some of those tricks also but I’m not going to ask nor do I care it’s their money, not mine. I will admit that I’m totally unimpressed anytime someone posts on social media about how much money they spent. ( I may laugh, however, knowing that I could be on that same flight for dramatically less )
I also think it's rather rude to assume people are jealous of me because I am flying business class. I can tell you that when I flew to Turkey in coach last year I did not waste time being jealous of the people in the front of the plane :)
But no, everyone on here does not fly just economy and as a frequent flyer who also reads travel social media sites for entertainment regardless of the "backend" software these places use I would NOT use them. I have read way too many horror stories to risk my money! When the airline you booked on makes a change you get to deal with these places... do you REALLY think online agencies have real customer service? (Trust me the response is no)
