FYI/PSA: AutoEurope Ownership Change (not good news)

n December 2025, Auto Europe was acquired by Deck2 Capital and a consortium of New York-based credit funds.
As of late 2025 written customer services communication is handled by machines. This results in applications for refunds for services not rendered to not be processed.

No personal experience, but over the years Auto Europe was often recommended here.

I appreciate this amplification, too.

After literally decades of renting cars through them, I have had a couple of dismal recent experiences. Now I understand why.

I will have to spend more time and money to find car rentals in Europe now. My seven-stage grief cycle for the Auto Europe experience is complete, and I have arrived at acceptance.

Thanks for letting us know. We rent often in Europe but have had no loyalty to any one company. Autoeurope will come off the list.
