British Airways IT is so outdated

To book a flight I recently created a British Airways account; soon after an email arrived asking me to set up two-factor authentication. After initiated the process I got interrupted by something and when I returned the session expired; when I called BA to send me another email for this I was told they couldn't.

I thought I would just delete the account and start all over again; this actually required me to fill out an online request and took a few days for the account to be deleted. While waiting I decided to just create a new account using another email address, thinking I could change it to my preferred email address later. Turned out that change also required me to fill out another online form.

I have accounts with half a dozen airlines (US, Asia and Europe), BA is the only one that still has such outdated IT from the '90s :(

LOL

sadly you are very mistaken. Every airline is limping along with outdated technology except maybe the new startups. But the legacy carriers….,

That’s why it took DL weeks to fully recover from the crowd strike mess and SW and JetBlue took weeks to recover from winter storms

BA may have worse user interface but they aren’t years behind their peers

@Fred: the little IT inconveniences I encountered pale in comparison to your nightmarish experience in Paris CDG. Still in this day and age who still requires customer to fill out a form just to change email address :p

maybe they want a paper form to protect you and your email from spammers and phishers?
