I am an anxious traveler and renting a car for 4 people with luggage. The option for a luxury SUV seemed to be the only one that would fit our requirements and the search turned up a Volvo XC60 or similar from Alamo. My question is if anybody has rented this class and can tell me what they got, model and trim. My CC CDW only covers a vehicle up to 65000 msrp CAD. I am wondering if anybody has rented the Peugot 3008 and knows if that will fit luggage for 4.

Depends on what luggage you bring
In USD MSRP on an XC60 is $49000 ( CDN 67k+); The 3008 is CDN 66k+

Keep in mind that car rental is typically luck of the draw, you're not renting a specific vehicle you're renting a class. So it's whatever is parked and cleaned sitting on the lot when you pull up.
Also keep in that mind, it's possible they may not have ANYTHING in your class when you show up (have had this happen several times). They really should give you a free upgrade in that case but again, if there is nothing else on the lot, you may have to make do with a downgrade (which for 4 with luggage is just not gonna work). Which may have a stick shift.
I had a Volvo Uber the other day and boy was it nice.

We’re a family of 4 and have rented several vehicles in Europe. The most comfortable was called an “estate car”. It was an Opel Insignia, if I recall. It had the most cargo space and was most comfortable for backseat passengers. If you have that option, I would recommend it. We’ve rented SUVs and the cargo space was very limited. We had to play Tetris to get the luggage in.
