Hello,
I have booked an Alamo rental of a luxury SUV Volvo XC60 or similar. Wondering if anybody has booked this class and can tell me what they got Model and trim. I am trying to find out if my CC CDW will cover as it needs to have a MSRP of $65000 CAD or less. Alternatively, will the Peugot 3008 hold 4 people and luggage as it may have a lower MSRP. Thank you for your tips regarding this question. I am not particular on what class of car I rent, only that it fits all of us and our luggage.
Looking at a Volvo website and a Peugeot website, they seem to have similar size trunk volumes, with a very slight advantage to Volvo, but the Volvo price appears to be well over your threshold. It would seem the Peugeot might be a better choice for you. Both vehicles would carry four adults.
How to answer this revolves around how much luggage your group will have. Four persons will find the 3008 Peugeot to be quite comfortable, but its luggage capacity isn't massive. You'd need a XC60 or 5008 if you're not packing light, I'd think.
We found that by asking everyone use unstructured luggage such as sacks or duffels, we were able to squeeze much more into the trunk of the small car we own in France.
And I agree that the 5008 would be the car if you aren't light packers..
Thanks for the replies. I think I will stick with the xc60 or similar and just pay the extra insurance. We will not be light packers as we are going for a wedding. It looks like the 3008 may be over $65000 as well.
Best wishes. Four people with wedding luggage might find the XC60 a bit tight, also. You might look into a van.
