UK ETA application

This isn't exactly a report of a scam, but more of a "PAY ATTENTION" warning.

While looking for the appropriate site to apply for an ETA for a trip to Scotland, I had to scroll by several sites that offer to "help", in other words, charge 5 or 10 times as much for the same service.

Make sure you go to the official UK site. I happened to do it without the app, and it took a very short time. The only issue I had was that there was no way to avoid DCC - I was told I had to pay in dollars.

My apologies if this has already been discussed to death...

There is an official app that makes it much easier. Took 6minutes and we were approved in 10 minutes.

I used the app UK ETA. One application was approved within 25 minutes, the other was approved within ONE minute!

The government websites of whichever country one resides in, always provide the correct information and web links for travel to other countries. For U.S. residents, access - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/International-Travel-Country-Information-Pages.html .

For those travelling to the U.K., the correct link to apply for and ETA is https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta .
