Spam attack on the forum

Looks like the webmaster is going to have a busy day tomorrow.

Report, but don't reply.

Something worked--9:00AM EDT and I don't see any of them, unless they are at ends of existent threads.

That's what they're doing -- attaching them to the ends of threads. You'll see a lot of 1 and 2 post posters whose user information is for a porn or gambling site.

Our able webmaster will nuke them shortly.

I am somewhat newbie frequent user of RS Forum and I want to thank you all for encouraging us to look at poster info before replying. I have caught a few spam and reported them. Is the protocol to also write on the thread "reported"?

And a big shoutout to the webmasters. They are helpful, friendly and I can't imagine how much work is to chase down those spammers.

Please don't. I know a lot of people do, but it bumps the thread and keeps is at the top of the list longer, which makes it more "legitimate" when Google crawls the forum.

Report, as you have been, and move on.

Hahaha...laughing at the "taxi" advertisement from London to Manchester couched as a "Long distance" trip....uh....to most US folks a trip of 200 miles is not really long distance!

Mike is right. Just report it and move on. Just saw a thread about Russian Visas with a first time poster along with at least one other first time poster chiming in! The webmaster is very good about keeping the forums "under control".

Pam, in Idaho, isn't that a standard run for groceries? (LOL)

How about that poem about Paris?

I repported it and asked the webmaster if it might have been written from a coffee house in Amsterdam.

@Frank, too true! My immediate thought is that I drive 125 miles one way every other week to have lunch with a good travel friend, so a 250 mile round trip. Totally worth it to "talk travel", hahaha!

With that dirt cheap gas in Idaho, Pam can afford to do it.

Anyone have an insight as to what the 'numbers' in the latest swarm are supposed to mean?
