I hope you have better luck! We have been so frustrated trying to use both online ticket sites. Our authorizations were denied by the banking on their side. We tried three different cards, all used internationally, and we were blocked. We checked with one of our banks and the card looked just fine. So disappointing after three hours of trying.

What do you mean by “both” ticket sites? Was this one of them?

It has been 12 years since we bought La Scalia tickets, but I recall at that time, we had to use either a “Verified by Visa” card or AmEx. Fortunately we had both.

So, here is an update. I called one of our banks and found out that if the organization or bank affiliated with the place you want to do business declines your card, it does not show up with the international VISA site! That is exactly what happened with our attempt to purchase at La Scala. Because of the Ukraine crisis, our request was not moved forward. I have left an email and have heard nothing in the last 4 days. So, we will not pursue tickets anymore. We will see what happens when, and if, we get to Milan. I fully support all Ukrainians in their struggle. If we need to cancel, so be it. I am disgusted with this dictatorial takeover.

It is important to support Ukraine and I think problems with VISA would be solved soon
